Lifeguard Training (Blended Learning)
Ages: 15+

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training is the course you need to become a certified lifeguard. Participants who successfully complete this course will become certified in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for Lifeguards and First Aid.
Taught in the Blended-Learning format, students will have the opportunity to complete the majority of the classroom work online at their own pace prior to the first in-person class. This allows for three days of intensive, skill focused, in-person sessions. (online portion will be provided atleast 1 week prior to the first in-person session)

Prerequisites:  Participants must be 15 years old by or on the last day of class; participants must pass a 3-part pre-course swimming test administered on the first day of class:  pt. 1) 300-yard continuous swim (not timed); pt. 2) 20-yard swim, retrieval of 10lb. object from 7ft. depth, swim with object 20 yds., exit pool at side (1:40 time limit);  pt. 3) treading water with legs only (2  min.).  Please bring a lunch, a towel, and appropriate clothing for quick transitions between the pool and classroom.

NOTE: Any lifeguard candidate from these classes that apply and get hired at the Marinwood Pool will be reimbursed the Lifeguard Class Fee, excluding materials/certification costs.
